Which battery testers work?
BatterySnap reads the Foxwell BT705 screen in English automatically. For other testers, type the values, or tap a value the app did not recognise under “Other values on the screen” and choose what it is – the app remembers the label next time.
The values don’t fill in
Hold the iPhone steady 15–25 cm from the screen, fill the frame, and avoid reflections from lamps or the sun. Show the tester’s next result page for the remaining values. In difficult light, take a shot with the shutter button, or tap a value to type it.
A value is wrong
Tap it while scanning, or edit the measurement afterwards. Values you type are kept and never overwritten by the camera.
Your data
Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone. With iCloud on, a backup file is kept in your iCloud Drive and offered for restore after reinstalling or on a new iPhone. You can also save a backup file to Files in Settings.
Moving to a new iPhone
Sign in with the same Apple Account and install BatterySnap – it offers to restore the iCloud backup. Or restore a backup file from Settings › Restore from Backup File.
Anonymous sharing
Off unless you turn it on in Statistics. Turning it off removes everything you shared. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what is shared.
Readings
Why does health drop in winter?
Cold lowers what a battery can deliver, so testers report lower health on cold days. Add the temperature to each test (automatic with Apple Weather) and BatterySnap separates cold from real wear.
Why are some tests left out of the trend?
Different testers calculate health in their own way, and the jump-start point reads lower than the battery itself. The trend uses tests made the same way as your latest one.
